Meeting Manta Rays (Manta birostris) is one of the most magical moments in Komodo. These graceful creatures are often seen gliding in the currents of Manta Point. However, to ensure their safety and your comfort, there are etiquette rules to follow.

First and foremost: never touch a Manta Ray. Human touch can damage the protective layer on their skin and cause infections. Stay on the surface or swim calmly at their side; do not chase or block their swimming path. Manta rays are very curious creatures; if you remain calm, they will often approach on their own.
