Behike Cruise is more than just a modern boat; it is an embodiment of thousand-year-old woodworking traditions. Its primary material, Ulin Wood or Ironwood (Eusideroxylon zwageri), is one of the strongest and heaviest woods in the world, growing only in the rainforests of Borneo and Sumatra.

Ulin was chosen for its incredible resistance to seawater and termite attacks. Uniquely, this wood actually hardens with age and water exposure. In traditional phinisi building, shipwrights (Punggawa) in South Sulawesi use techniques passed down orally, assembling plank by plank without written schemes.

As you walk on the deck of Behike, you are stepping on a work of art built to last generations. The texture and aroma of ulin provide a warm character that cannot be replaced by steel or fiberglass, creating a deep connection with the sea and Indonesian maritime history.
